I really enjoyed watching "The Boys". A sort of anti-superhero series with comments regarding the power of the Media, religion, crime, government, big business and commercialism.

You'd probably enjoy Watchmen if you haven't read the original comic or watched the film(s).

But honestly, I could never get into The Boys in either version. The comic squicked me out. Then again, to be frank, every comic I have read by the same writer, Garth Ennis, didn't do it for me. To be fair, that is basically The Boys and Preacher.

Meanwhile, regarding the TV show, which I managed to watch the first episode of...for a show about superheroes, it lacked wonder. Even Watchmen had a sense of wonder even with the darkness. Hell, I can stand reading or watching dark stuff if it actually still has a sense of wonder. Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, The Sandman, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Overlord (the anime series and the novels it was based on, not the video game series)...they had a sense of wonder The Boys sorely lacked...
