Atwater, Olivia: 1. Half A Soul (2020) - in a Regency England that has the fae casually coexisting with humans, a girl loses half her soul to a faerie, and it was the half that had her ability to be embarrassed. She has very little social awareness, a difficult trait in the rules-obsessed human Regency society and a very dangerous one when there are dangerous elves about. Rules are the only constraints they obey. There is human magic, too, but the rules are different, and the Lord Sorcier's job is to keep the barriers working.
Atwater, Olivia: 2. Ten Thousand Stitches (2020) - an overworked maid with a talent for embroidery falls in love with, of course, a minor nobleman. The elf who wants only to help her is considered a dangerous aberration by everyone else, since he, like other fae, has trouble understanding human rules and humans have trouble with the rules that bind the fae. He must obey the rule that all help comes with a price, no matter how generous he would like to be. Gifts are simply not allowed.
I have not read book 3, Longshadow (2021).
This frothy Regency fantasy world has a few dark notes, but it is very suitable for a pleasant hour or two.
Olivia Atwater was influenced by Sir Terry Pratchett.
