(May I just say that I love Mr Salzella's long-protracted death scene?
It reminds me so much of protracted death scenes in real operas, like Radames and Aida's in Verdi's
Aida, or Mimi's in
La Boheme. Really, take your pick.
But then, I've been performing music (and light opera) for about 20 years now, so I find
Maskerade utterly hilarious.
